I'm on a boat...
Class was very boring today and is getting really tough. I guess that's what happens when you go up a level :P Not very many days of class left now though. After class we took the bus to the Japanese Garden so that Kylie could see it. It was just as pretty as it was when I went. From there we walked so that she could see the Planetarium. Then of course we had to walk through the big Palermo Park! I took a different route than I did last time and we ended up in Rosedal which is possibly one of the prettiest places I've ever seen. Even though it is winter, there were still lots of roses that had blossomed and beautiful fountains with clear water. It was so peaceful.

I finally found out where the paddleboats that Pupi had been telling me about were. There is a large lake in the park in Palermo and even though it was freezing...WE WENT PADDLEBOATING!!! It was so much fun and cost like $5 USD. Who would have thought. There were lots of ducks in the lake with us and we got to paddle around for about 40 minutes. I'm not really convinced that those "life jackets" would have really kept us afloat had we fallen in the water, but I really appreciate the effort :) One of the best days EVER!

After this it was getting dark, so we walked back to the bus stop to catch the bus. However, in the 30 minutes we waited, only one bus came but didn't stop because it was too full. We waited for a little while longer and then just decided to just take a taxi home. It was very warm in the taxi and I'm sure when we got home that those other people were probably still waiting for another bus. Traffic here is crazy around 6 pm and the amount of people on the streets gets totally nuts!
When we got home, we did our workout and our homework. Tonight for dinner we had locro which is a very traditional meal of Argentina. It is like a soup made with corn, chorizo, beef, chicken and bacon. It was delicious and the chorizo here has a ton of flavor. It was nice to have a traditional meal here since most of the food we eat is very heavily influenced by the Italians. After dinner Pupi gave us chocolate pudding. It was all so delicious!
Funny Story #(I can't remember): Tonight we were talking about exercising and Pupi pointed out that we take the stairs a lot and that was really good for us. We were talking about how we take the stairs at the University. Kylie has class on the 8th floor but takes the elevator and then walks up to the 11th floor for lunch. I have class on the 4th floor and walk up the whole way and then also walk to the 11th floor for lunch. When we were explaining this to Pupi, what Kylie needed to say was "Subi las escaleras."-I climbed the stairs. What she actually said was "Subi los esclavos."-I climbed the slaves. We all just laughed!
Is it bad that I see all of these places & think how it could be turned into a wedding venue? I see that big tree & think how nice it would look for a ceremony. haha!
