What a Weekend!

Yesterday was a relaxing day. Kylie went on an excursion to El Tigre, so I had the entire day to myself. It was very good to do my own thing and have some time think on my own. Although, I was very lazy and didn't do much. I went and ate a really big salad for lunch and then tried to go see a movie. However, I had to wait in line at both of the cinemas that are close to our house and each time I got close to the front, the movie sold out. The lines were ridiculous and coming from both directions for blocks. After the fourth time and walking in between the cinemas to get a ticket, I gave up and came home. It was starting to sprinkle anyways.

For those of you that studied with me in Summer 1, I found out that the Mendoza cinema is only a block off of  Cablido and that the Congreso de Tucuman Subte stop is in the same block as the General Paz cinema. So much for walking all that way in a rushed state through all those people ;)

When I got home, another one of Pupi's daughter, Victoria, and her family were here. Since she has a huge family, someone is always visiting, which is really nice! When Kylie got home, we read and played cards until Pupi had dinner ready. During dinner, we watched TV, which is very normal, but their shows are not so normal. We watched a show where this guy put himself into a box where he tried to beat a record of how many minutes he could go without oxygen. After he got into the box, they covered him with marbles, put a lid on, taped it, put it in another box, and filled it with water. This was all to make sure that air could not get into where he was. He actually beat the record and went 30 minutes, but I'm not really sure his brain was functioning so well when he was done. They have some crazy TV shows here, but are very interesting.

After dinner, we both got ready to meet some program people in Palermo. It was really fun to get out and see the nightlife. However, since I'm "old" we came home around 2 am, which Pupi strongly made sure we knew was early for going out. We didn't really have any desire to go to the boliches, where breathing space is limited and boys are very pushy. We took a cab home with one of our friends and I was so tired that I slept like a baby :)
Kylie and I
Today we slept in and then got up to go to the Feria de Mataderos. Last time I went it was really cool and there were hundreds of artesanias, so I was excited to go back. However, after riding in the bus for an hour, we got there and since the weather was not very nice, there was hardly anyone there. I felt really bad for Kylie since I had talked it up to be something really special and then it was a quarter of the size. We walked around for only an hour and then took the bus back to Belgrano. When we got back, we stopped at Blau and had a superb lunch and then came home and took a nap.

When we woke up, we walked to a church called Rey de Reyes and went to a service. It was very interesting, but very good at the same time. Their services here are like 2.5 hours long and we stood and sang for about 2 hours of that. All of the songs were worship songs we sing in the U.S. The people there were awesome and we stood next to this really nice lady. It was getting late and we needed to be home for dinner, so we left the service when it got a little too charismatic for the both of us and walked home.

I am so worn out and so tired that I am going to call it an early night and go to bed now. Goodnight and hope all is well!
