Horse Races

After taking my midterm, (which by the way was extremely hard and I'm really glad that passing is 4/10 because I'm pretty sure that will be my grade if not worse) I wanted to relax and see something more that the city had to offer. Then of course I had to come home and to my homework, study for another quiz, and work on a presentation I have to give on Wednesday.

So anyways, we went to the horse races! They are held every Monday and although it was not as bizarre as the chicken fights in Mexico, it was very interesting. We watched two races before we decided to call it a day. Many of the other people there were very into them and as they got closer to the finish, the noise from the horses hooves and the noise from the people yelling complemented each other. The jockeys were very small (but honestly what Argentine isn't) and so were the horses. We watched them warm-up their horses and then put them in the gate. And of course we bet between each other which one would win and of course none of them ever did. :) It was good to see some sort of livestock and was very relaxing to "be" a local taking in an afternoon at the horse races.
Big screen and horses at the finish line!

I hope you enjoy the video! It was a blast!

  1. So I'm getting caught up on reading your posts...we've had company all week & I haven't had any time to sit & read. But I just wanted to let you know that I'm happy to see that almost every post starts out with "today was amazing." That's so great to see! Glad you're having so much fun. Jacob has mentioned us going to Argentina for our honeymoon. So keep us in mind as you travel! :)
