Fería
de Mataderos
Today
we took the bus for about an hour to the outskirts of the city to a province
called Mataderos (one of the poorest parts of town) where they have a festival
every Sunday. There were many little shops of handcrafted goods and lots of
food! I had the best tamale I have ever had and some strawberries with popcorn
on them. For the festival you can dance in the street to their famous dances or
watch the people on the stage. This
festival brings together all of the uniqueness from each region of Argentina and
puts it all in one place. It was a blast to walk the streets and watch the
people make bags of leather, paint pictures, and many other handicrafts. This
is the festival of gauchos and the way people were dressed was amazing!

After
walking this all day we took the bus back to Cabildo and then the Subte to
Palermo. We relaxed in the mall, had a smoothie and walked around. The city is
mostly shut down on Sundays so there wasn’t much to do, but we explored more of
Palermo. Then we had to come home and do our homework :(
Today was
very cold (about 58 degrees), but with the tall buildings in the city blocking
the sun, it made for a freezing day. Tomorrow the high is 56 and I will be
wearing my coat most definitely :) That’s all for today, gotta study!
Looks like you are having an awesome time!!! Hope it warms up soon!!
